HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Hussein al-Sheikh, vice president of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Vice President of the State of Palestine.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH Sheikh Abdullah expressed his best wishes to Hussein al-Sheikh for success in his duties.
The meeting, held today in Abu Dhabi, discussed the current general developments in the region and their various implications, particularly the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, and emphasized the importation of intense human efforts to provide urgent.
The main diplomat of the EAU affirmed the long fraternal and historical posture of the EAU towards the Palestinian people and their unwavering commitment to support their legitimate aspirations of sustainable peace, development and a dignified life.
HH Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the need for international efforts arranged at this stage to address the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to build a sustainable humanitarian response that meets the needs of civilians who face tragic conditions. It was emphasized that the EAU will not save any effort to extend a friendly hand to the Palestinian brothers and provide the necessary humanitarian support.
Sheikh Abdullah also emphasized the importance of ending extremism, tension and increasing violence in the region and moving towards a serious political horizon to revive negotiations, with the aim of achieving an integral peace based on the sustainable security of the two -and safety of the region.
The meeting was attended by Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State, and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.
