As for the majority, London has always been a career of the desire list for me. Listen to stories from the electric atmosphere of my grandfather’s festival when I was a child means that I have been entering the London Marathon ballot for 9 years! And now it was the time. I have always liked to try a marathon, but I have never endowed particularly long distance, but I had to give the best opportunity I had!
He had had a quite consistent training block, visitors and back to school after spring brought some interruption in the last six weeks, but nothing important in terms of missing careers, swimming or cycles in preparation. I felt safe and in shape when I entered the event, the most positive thing I felt when I am in a marathon! My only wish is that I have made some longer races in the race, to make sure I was very comfortable with the distance; But each training block is a learned lesson!

I would initially establish myself in a negative divided approach, I recently had success with this in the 16 km of Skechers in March, but when I reached the exit line, I realized that this may not be possible with the volume of people, and used it turned Pointelle’s or Yoralle -000, and used and used and used and used and used in Varame’s, 000,000,000. Above! I had divided the 4 x 10 km block race into my head (with some hopes and sentences by the last 2.2 km …), and intended a conservative approach with small profits towards the 4:20 hourly goal.
I had tasks a rhythm 4:15 bracelet of the Expo, one of the best I have done, a great risk of becoming a child in a sweet store! And I had managed to stay only a couple of seconds behind this during most of the race, at 30 km it was fine for an end of 4:20. I had handled a gel every 20 minutes, without my reliable isotonic steel gels, I did it with the sister’s isotonic gels (with whom I had trained!) And they look good and kept the high vibrations. The good weather was also a great advantage: a temple of 22 degrees and a burning sun, perfect when traveling from Dubai; They kept me lovely and great for my light Sported.

I was lucky to receive hugs from former colleagues, old friends and even my parents around the first three quarters of the course, a great moral impulse when things began to reach 27 km …
Despite the best efforts and supervision of up to 30 km, today it was not the day for a PB marathon! I ended up ending at 4:52, the good thing about London is that when things get difficult, the absolutely carough crowd, the streets did not give up for the entire race! I adopted a walking strategy to save Myelf as much time as possible in the last 12 km, and (almost) I cried through the finish line!

The battle was at that time! I had to return to London to the car in Stratford (difficult with the marathon legs and a Up Up Up Up tube …) and then to Stonsted to be able to return home and recover before returning to teaching and early teaching and early Tuesday morning.

If someone wonders if you should enter the ballot, do it absolutely! I was 100% before, but there is certainly no race like London!
