This expansion addresses the growing demand for service, offering quick and convenient daily mobility solutions while improving traffic flow through the Emirate.

Adel Shakri, director of Planning and Business Development of the Public Transport Agency of RTA, said: “The bus service on demand is perfect, efficient and is one of the main mass mobility solutions in Dubai, a city that experiences rapid population growth.

Bus on request in Dubai

“This expansion helps address the challenges related to traffic congestion and improves traffic flow, while it remains profitable in just AED5 ($ 1.40) for a trip per person.

“In response to the growing demand, RTA had expanded the service to cover 10 key areas throughout the Emirate. The service was already avializable in vital locations such as Barsha, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Al Nahda, with recent excoons in Buthingy Bay or in February or in February.

“The service is experiencing a strong demand for a broad segment of public transport users, especially with the last expansion that covers key areas and allows a trip without problems between the two adjacent areas.

“This integration strengthens the public transport network and guarantees faster and faster trips for travelers.”

Shakri explained that the bus initiative on request works through an intelligent response system that allows passengers to request the service through an intelligent application.

This system connects designated areas with compact public buses, allowing users to plan their exit route to destination and pay the rate through the application.

He stressed that the service sacrifices an innovative solution for first mile connectivity, which links the residential sewing areas with the closest public transport stations.

Before launching the service, RTA conducted a comprehensive field survey based on several criteria, including the demographic data of the users, the property of the vehicle, the mobility options, the proximity to the stations and public transport stops, and the walking time options.

The additional factors considered included comfort, punctuality, availability at the request, proximity to residential areas and key destinations, and affordability.

RTA also compared the service against global best practices in countries such as Spain, Germany, the United States and Finland.

Notly, you can access the Bus-on-Demand service through the intelligent application of Dubai-Bus On-Demand, notable to download in Apple Store and Google Play Store for smartphones and smart devices.

The service operates 13 -seat buses along routes designed within specific geographical areas, with drivers capable of communicating with passengers through the application to reach the nearest collection point.
