DP World announced the launch of an avant -garde electric charge solution in the port of Jebel Ali in association with Einride, marking an important step towards terminal decarbonization operations.
The first wave of the electric fleet will move more than 204000 containers of twenty feet annually, which supports the efforts of the DP World to accelerate the transition to the greenerst logistics, the company said.

The company said the initiative will reduce 14,600 tons of equivalent carbon dioxide (CO2E) annually, compared to diesel operations.
The project is part of an association between DP World and Einride signed in May 2024 to electrify the flow containers in the port of Jebel Ali, the largest sea port in the Middle East.
Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and managing director of DP World GCC, said Decarbonising Logistics is a central priority for the company.
“We are actively electrifying our operations, integrating solutions with AI feeding and working closely with our partners such as Einride to support our only zero goals,” he said.
Bin Damithan said how 10Th Older port worldwide, Jebel Ali is establishing the reference point for transport electrification in high volume shopping centers.

Robert Falck, CEO and founder of Einride, said the launch marks the first of many milestones, since the company will have the greatest deployment of electric and autonomous freight mobility in the Middle East.
“The EAU are uniquely positioned to lead this sustainable transition given is the innovation approach, and we are proud to boost this in association with DP World,” he said.
The electric fleet is being implemented as part of a multi -phase deployment, which integrates the complete Einride platform, which includes electric vehicles, load infrastructure and the Einride operating system driven by AI.
It will continue a second wave later this year, and the full fleet in 2026-Moving 2 million containers of twenty feet annually.
This staggered implementation uses Einride -based analysis to optimize the cost and operational efficiency, while feeling the work based on future autonomous implementation.
