UAE leads global fibre network race with 99.5% coverage, maintain top position

The United Arab Emirates (EAU) have established a new world record in the coverage of the fiber network to home, which reach 99.5 percent, maintaining their position as the best classified country in the world since 2016, said an industry report.

The Republic of Korea took second place with 96.6 percent, followed by China in third place in 93.6 percent, according to the annual report issued by the FTTH Council Council. The classifications are based on data from 2024.

E & AAE plays the main role in promoting the telecommunications sector in the country, with the fixed broadband penetration rate throughout the country.

Its extensive fiber optic infrastructure covers more than 14.5 million kilometers equivalent to more than 360 times the high speed connectivity provided by land circumference to approximately 2.88 million homes throughout the country, referring to the company.

Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of E & UAE, said this achievement is more than a number.

It is the result of consistent efforts that was in 1986, when the company first launched fiber optic technology in the Eau transport network, racing the way for the country’s advanced digital ecosystem, he said.

He said that the global milestone underlines E&AU’s commitment to be a key partner of digital transformation, and also reinforce the country’s leadership in technology.

E & UAE said that it continues its efforts to expand fiber optic coverage throughout the country through a variety of innovative solutions, including the launch of the fiber-oate fiber service (FTTY), which offers high speed to yacht for the yacht service for), which offers high-speed internet and improved wireless network coverage through the house.
