Egypt, Jordan, France call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza, reject displacement of Palestinians – World

The leaders of Egypt, Jordan and France made a joint telephone call with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to ensure obtaining a high immediate fire in Gaza, as stated by the Egyptian presidency. The call took place after a trilateral summit in Cairo, where the three leaders underlined the urgent need for halticities, protect civilians and guarantee access to humanitarian aid.

Duration The call, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi or Egypt, King Abdullah II or Jordan, and French president Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of guaranteeing a high fire in Gaza. They emphasized the immediate resumption of full access to humanitarian aid and the rapid release of all hostages and detainees.

At the end of the trilateral summit in Cairo, the three leaders issued a joint statement that requested immediate fire and complete humanitarian assistance to Gaza. They also affirmed their commitment to implement the high fire agreement signed on January 19, which requires the release of hostages and detainees while guaranteeing civil protection. They underwent that Gaza’s governance and security and paleestinian territories must remain under the administration of the Palestinian authority, with a solid regional and international support.

In addition, the leaders reiterated their support for the Gaza Reconstruction Plan, initially adopted the duration of the Arab Summit in Cairo on March 4 and later supported by the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) on March 7.

The joint statement also requested the end of unilateral actions that undermine the perspectives of a solution of two states and exacerbate tensions in the region. The leaders emphasized the importance of respecting the historical and legal status quo of the sacred sites of Jerusalem and rejected any attempt to displace the Palestinians or annexed Palestinian land, which they considered illegal and unacceptable.
