The commissioned works will serve key areas in Dubai, including Nad Al Hamar, neighborhood of the Dubai International Airport, to the Garhoud, Alshidiya, Al Quoz, Zabeel, Al Wasl, Jumeirah and Al Badaa.

More than 36 kilometers of new drainage lines will be built, which are linked to the main Tasreef tunnel, which will finally connect the drainage systems through the Emirate.

Officials claim that this will significantly increase the total network drainage capacity in the objective areas.

ā€œTasreef is a pioneer, strategic and transformative project implemented by the municipality of Dubai as part of its efforts to develop advanced and sustainable infrastructure projects according to the highest standards of Urban and Surf of the Storm and our Storm Municipality.

The broader Tasreef project, with an estimated total cost of AED30 billion, aims to improve the capacity of the drainage system and introduce its disarring capacity by 700 percent in the next 100 years.
