The EAU registered strong growth and significant achievements in tourism in 2024, and hotel occupancy increased to 78 percent, one of the highest rates, both regional and worldwide.
The high occupancy levels pushed the hotel’s revenues to reach almost 45 billion last year, registering a three percent increase compared to 2023.
Industry officials and tourism experts, however, affirmed that the sector still has a fixed without exploiting potential.
They emphasize that important projects, within tourism and in other sectors, are ready to further stimulate tourism growth and boost the attractiveness of investment in the field.
Mohamed al Rais, honorary president of the group of travel agents and Tour de Dubai (DTTAG), and the executive director of the travel and shipping agencies of Al RAIS (Al Rais Group), said that the EAU have witnessed numerous pioneering and exceptional projects.
These developments, he said, have raised the sector to a leadership position in the region in terms of tourist experiences, and established to the EAU as a world leader in various fields related to tourism.
Hosni Abdelhadi, CEO of Carlton Hotel and Suites Eau, said that the strong impulse in the country’s tourism sector reflects a clear vision of leadership aimed at solidifying the position of the EAU as a complete global tourism and investment.
Hello, he also pointed out that the continuous expansion of tourism and tourism infrastructure projects is promoting investor confidence and the opening of new roads for growth.
Experts said that the EAU tourism sector sector is witnessing an increase in investment opportunities in all areas, from infrastructure development to hotels, resorts, entertainment projects and green economy of the inyity of sustainable tourism.
The country took first place in the Middle East and North Africa and 18Th Worldwide in the Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2024 issued by the World Economic Forum.
