Reshan Algama, from Sri Lanka, birdied the first play-off hole, the 18th hole at Al Hamra to win the 2025 Robert Rock UAE Championship as part of the 2025 rebranded RR League at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Algama had rounds of 74, 72 and 72 to finish on two over par in regulation play to be tied with Adrian Larsson (The Els Club) and Korea’s Suan Yang.
The tournament was an EGF Junior Major – and a qualifier for the EGF Boy’s and Girl’s 2024 – 25 Order of Merit. It was also a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) qualifier for WAGR points, supported by The R&A.
The top two from the Boy’s Division qualify for the Clutch Pro Tour Final at Al Zorah later in the year.
Robert Rock attended the tournament and thanked all players for their support as well as all the parents of all the participating juniors.
Paul Booth, GM of Al Hamra Golf Club commented, ‘We thank Robert Rock and the EGF for bringing this excellent junior golf tournament to Al Hamra. We have witnessed some excellent play from players from Russia, Sri Lanka, Bahrain and, of course, the UAE. A big thanks to the EGF’s Kieren Pratt for all his support.’
This is the third year of the tournament and we look forward to seeing this tournament grow in the region and beyond. It really does have a lot of potential.’
