Ahmed Skaik (UAE) and Sam Mullane (EGF) lead after two rounds of the inaugural 54-hole Cedars Golf Championship taking place at Al Zorah Golf and Yacht Club in Ajman, UAE.
Both Skaik and Mullane have had identical rounds of 69 and 66 to be five under the card after 36-holes
Skaik was four under par after 7 holes in round two, to be out in an impressive 31. He then stumbled on holes 11 and 12 with a double and a bogey.A strong finish with three birdies on holes 16, 17 and 18 saw him hand in his 66
Skaik and Mullane have a three-shot lead with the leaders out last tomorrow (Thursday) at 8.20 am.
Austin Cahill from Al Zorah Golf Club, commented, ‘We have had some excellent golf over the first couple of days from the Arab golf countries in this Cedars Golf Championship. We are all looking forward to tomorrow’s final round with six players all within five shots of the leaders.’
Organised by the Lebanese Golf Federation in collaboration with the Emirates Golf Federation, and the overarching sanctioning body, the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), this Championship is the second tournament of the Arab Golf Series.
The winner of the Men’s overall category come tomorrow (Thursday) night will earn a spot on the 2025 HotelPlanner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour), in the UAE Challenge, to be held at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club, UAE, Thursday 10th – Sunday 13th April, 2025.
The leader of the Ladies Division (Par 71) is Lara Bakhour (Leb) with rounds 73 and 68 to be three under par – two ahead of Anca Mateiu (EGF)
