UAE’s compulsory medical insurance for all – what will insurers do on basic premiums?

Early 2023 should see UAE confirm launch date for universal medical insurance.

Compulsory UAE-wide medical insurance will bring residents across all emirates under coverage. Insurance industry sources say basic medical insurance package premiums will differ with the emirate.

Dubai: With UAE planning compulsory health insurance across all emirates, citizens and residents will have more medical insurance plans to choose from. And even on what they need to pay as annual premium on their medical insurance.

But this need not mean that the basic health cover will be the same across each of the emirates, insurance industry sources say. Each emirate could have the flexibility to decide what its ‘basic’ healthcare insurance premium should be, they add.

“The basic plan premiums would be below the Dh1,000 bracket,” said a spokesperson at Dubai Insurance. “But a standardisation of rates in all the emirates will be quite unlikely due to differences in regulator guidelines and minimum benefits offered in the basic policy.”

The date for the UAE-wide compulsory medical insurance rollout is yet to be confirmed, but insurance and healthcare industry providers are hopeful that clarity on the launch will be provided early next year itself. Currently, only Dubai and Abu Dhabi have mandatory health insurance requirements for its residents, and which need to renewed annually.

AVERAGE MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUMS
In Dubai:
* For a child, it would start from Dh789.
* For the wife, the annual premium would be from Dh1,700.
* For investors and Golden Visa holders, the packages start from Dh900.
* For parents of residents, medical cover could start from Dh2,100.In Abu Dhabi:
* For those up to 17 years, the typical medical premium would start from Dh1,670.
* For 18-40, the average would be Dh2,000.
* There is an additional Dh750 for maternity.

A post-COVID boost for insurers

For the UAE’s insurance industry, this will be one of the biggest breaks coming their way, and at a time when the need for optimal healthcare coverage has never been felt this acutely before. Even in a post-COVID healthcare landscape.

“Once implemented, the new compulsory health insurance scheme in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain could double the premium income from medical insurance of about Dh1 billion over the next two to three years,” said Emir Mujkic, Director and Lead Analyst – Insurance Ratings, S&P Global Ratings.

However, the exact premium income will depend on the exact pricing, the table of benefits, and timing of the implementation, which remain uncertain at this stage.

COVID had done its part in ensuring that residents did not treat coming under medical cover as a mere process to be done for residency permits and other government-facing requirements.

R Manji

A comprehensive book by R Manji that will clear all the doubts of couples regarding fertility

Throughout various stages of their life, women’s bodies go through several physical changes. To have a healthy life, they must take good care of themselves during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. However, the majority of women nowadays disregard their reproductive health. It ultimately causes a number of issues, including infertility, PCOS, and other issues. Therefore, it is necessary to be worried about one’s reproductive health. Numerous well-known gynecologists, like R Manji, have written books to assist patients and have focused on reproductive health as a crucial concern.

She claims that today’s majority of couples think that having children is a simple and natural process, and for the most part, they are right. However, the road to fertility often proves to be more difficult than anticipated. As a result, she addresses all the questions that a person asks themselves when he wants, and perhaps struggle, to have a baby in her book, which she hopes will enlighten and assist couples on their path to procreation for years. She took years of research and study on this matter. The end result is a comprehensive booklet that is accessible to everyone and helps bring to light some of the less well-known aspects of infertility, making it easier for those who are directly affected by the drama to cope.

She dispelled all the ambiguities and provided comprehensive and practical knowledge about conception in her book. She concentrates on the intricate and interesting subject of human fertility, emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices that can protect and improve it and outlining the primary factors that affect both male and female infertility. She then moves on to the more practical issues, assessing the various methods of medically assisted reproduction, outlining the distinctions between level I, II, and III approaches, and discussing when it would be wise or necessary to choose one over the other.

DjLuiJay is the perfect DJ that will make one’s special event memorable.

His hard work, commitment, and readiness to put in the work have finally helped him succeed in this industry.

Norero, aka DjLuiJay, was raised in the United States of America. He resided in Florida; however, this was short-lived because his family then moved to Los Angeles, California, the city of angels. It’s been a hardworking and smooth journey for him because he has so much compassion and dedication for his career and knows the way of this music industry.

DjLuiJay discovered his passion for DJ and music at an early age of 7 when he witnessed a DJ doing the turntables and mixer, and there was no looking back from then on. Finally, at the age of 17, DjLuiJay got the major break and landed himself a ticket to Hollywood. He worked in famous Hollywood Clubs and eventually led to an On-Air DJ for the radio station, clubs, birthday parties, weddings, quinceañeras, and high school events. After researching famous DJs like DJ Qbert, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Am, and DJ E-Man and further embracing them, he created his style and sound that people loved and enjoyed listening to. The struggle he has faced is matching prices and competing with other DJs or companies around the area. Sometimes DJs are valued so low that other DJs that have already put in so much sweat, work, and time, sometimes say yes or take a job for an amount that is not fair. He believes that by providing excellent customer service, building relationships, and getting to know what the customer or client wants, he can deliver and execute his best and provide them with the best experience. If they like what they hear, most likely, they will never look for another DJ. He play Reggaeton, Hip-hop, Top40s Cumbia, Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, 80s – 90s and make remixes.

He believes if one is committed and ready to put all efforts into the work; one will succeed in this industry. Check out his Instagram page @djluijay.

2) about your profession and how you are involved in this profession

Carla’s organization is Carla A Carlisle LLC. She found her calling after becoming a foster parent and now adoptive parent to her son, JC. Through the six-year journey to adopt JC,
Carla saw the direct impact of trauma and intergenerational trauma on her child and herself. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) impact children into adulthood without social buffering. ACEs increases a person’s likelihood of trying to die by suicide by as much as 1200%, I almost lost my child at the tender age of 6, and consistent exposure to his family’s intergenerational trauma impacted my own mental and physical well-being. Trauma and mental health are as important as physical health, without advocacy and support, the impact can be devastating to the individual and society. Carla not only wanted better for her own son, but for all people who are traumatized or dealing with toxic stress.

Carla’s workshops:

Join trauma expert and child advocate Carla Carlisle, to learn her 4-step BEST method for self-care as a caregiver to arm you with the support, incentives and tools you need to fill up your emotional tank.

3) about your achievements

Carla gave her TEDx Talk entitled Becoming Trauma Informed Changed My Life to share two important things: 1) the connection of mental health (especially ACEs) and physical health and 2) the importance of everyone taking ownership by helping/advocating for those who didn’t have support as a child and their children. She isn’t asking anyone to be a superhero, just to become a loving advocate to a child or children in need. See more at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT7aiDiAI84&t=16s

Carla and her 11-year-old son JC penned “My Big Notebook: It’s About Me with a Little Help from My Friend JC”. My Big Notebook is the first of its kind; a fun, private, guided way for elementary school-aged children to express their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences as an ongoing form of self-expression while coping with life and daily stressors. JC is your child’s buddy in a composition-style book. My Big Notebook includes evidence-based coping mechanisms packaged into fun journaling and coloring pages along with meaningful stories from JC’s life.

Carla penned “Journey to the Son” to share the often perilous journey many children face when the trauma of their parents is unresolved. She pours her heart out to the reader about her battles with infertility, a failed marriage, becoming a foster parent and then losing the child to the foster care system. She went on to try to help the birth parents and ended up becoming a victim of trauma herself. Yes, she risked it all for the son of her heart. Learn more at

Carla was a key contributor to Change, Creativity, Curiosity and Hope in a Crisis Called Pandemic: Uncertainty, Fear, Perspective and Prayer, which is a great bedside book to read through during those times of isolation at home during the pandemic. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1977232426/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8ATB8FFTXZPK5DH7JSA4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

5) long-term and short-term goal

Carla’s short-term goal is to share aspects of her journey to motherhood and the impact of trauma on children to national and international audiences, which would include book sales of Journey to the Son and My Big Notebook.

Longer term, Carla wants to get My Big Notebook translated and provided to children in foster care and orphanages across the world. She sees herself speaking on international stages giving workshops and keynote speeches to share hope for our children who endure so much.

8) about family

Carla was born in the United States in a small town called Kokomo, Indiana. She attended Indiana University undergraduate school where she became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Carla moved to Washington, DC and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the United States Senate and consulted to multiple government agencies while obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in human resources management from American University and another in organizational development from Johns Hopkins University. Carla obtained a graduate certificate in change management from Johns Hopkins University.

Her biggest accomplishment has been becoming a mom. She is a proud boy mom and dog lover. Her home is always busy. Her sons have started following in her footsteps by sharing the importance of mental health in the community. She loves writing, social media and traveling with her kids, friends, and family.

9) conclusion

Through a life changing experience, Carla became a symbol of hope and resilience for those adversely impacted by trauma and toxic stress. Her mission is to bring awareness to the impact of trauma so those in a position to help, will. Helping children and their families will make the world better for us all.

10) something want to tell to people.

Experiencing trauma as a child is devastating and can bring about developmental delays and much worse, but there is hope! It takes just one loving advocate to positively change the trajectory of a child’s life.

Nicole March

For Nicole, music has always meant life . . . it feeds the soul, inspires the mind, and nourishes the heart. Memorizing her first song at the age of two and singing it repeatedly to an audience of stuffed toys, she went on to hum original melodies on horseback during childhood before touring internationally with her high school choir. Nicole knew from a young age where her place in this world should be. Always ready to perform, she would jump at any chance to sing in her hometown of West Vancouver with her friend Shannon, while her Mom accompanied the two on piano.

Waking up with a new melody in her head almost every morning, countless songs started materializing in her journal. Always an avid writer, the words came effortlessly, and her friends and family were soon urging her to do something with the gift she was being offered. As fate would have it, Nicole reconnected with an acquaintance of many years, Jason Nett, a young classical composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who offered to work on a demo for her in the fall or
winter of 2005.

“Pick Me Up,” the resulting 14-track album, is a refreshing mix of folk, rock, pop and acoustic sounds, intricate lyrics and catchy melodies. Sweet yet powerful,
heartfelt, and refreshingly quirky, Nicole’s infectious personality and unapologetic honesty can be heard from start to finish. Taking a few years off to work for CBC and what was then “The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos,” she met her husband, got married, and had two beautiful little boys, writing, playing, and singing along the way. Nicole’s Mom, Linda, passed away on November 25 th, 2015. Two more songs were added to her list of recordings as her family mourned their loss: “Juliet” and “When I Wake” were produced by Andrew Halliwell at Tiger Mountain Studios in Lantzville, BC.

Heading back into the studio with her guitar once more, Nicole sat down and made some live recordings: Falling Down, Shooting Star, Fall Apart, and The Simple Life. Not long after, Michael Creber (KD Lang, Raffi, etc.) invited her into his home studio. Together they recorded “Cardonnet” and “Hail Mary,” a song that xwechtaal Dennis Joseph of the Squamish Nation helped out with. His ancestral drum can be heard throughout the song, as well as his beautiful voice and harmonica. The resulting EP is called “Floating Islands”… we hope you enjoy the music.
