- ADNOC leads the winners for their role in reduction in the progress of inclusive medical care
- Dr. Ilhaam Abbas honored with the first individual Golisano prize
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – May 15, 2025—Eau Special Olympics, in collaboration with the ABU Dhabi Public Health Center, organized a special ceremony to the prestigious local health leadership awards of Golisano yesterday. These awards recognize exceptional efforts to advance inclusive medical care for determination people. The event serves as a key milestone in the health of the promotion community and inclusive practices by honoring organizations and people who have had a tangible impact on the care and empowerment of people with intellectual disabilities and development.
The ceremony, held at the National Exhibition Center of Abu Dhabi (ADNEC), coincided with the 25th World Conference of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), acknowledged ADNOC with the Foryf Golisano Prize. Since 2023, ADNOC has been a firm defender of the EAU of Special Olympics, which contributed to their health programs that delivered more than 1,200 health controls in 2024. This year, the Center for Autism Intervention Specialists was also recognized for its pioneering initiatives in the training of university students on inclusive care skills. Dr. Ilhaam has trained several new clinical directors, including 20 apprentices from Saudi Arabia (12 of Dammam and eight from Jeddah), nine in Morocco and 18 in the United Arab Emirates. It also supports mentors who work together with health messengers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Ilhaam has actively participated in several will initiatives in the Mena region, including the World Special Olympic Games and Eau Games, which reflects its deep commitment to support the community.

With the support of the Golisano Foundation, one of the main world organizations for the promotion of community inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities and development, the Golisano awards recognize national corianes for leaders for the Golisano. This global distinction is one of the highest honors in inclusive medical care within the special Olympic movement.
The nomination for the International Prize is based on strict criteria established by Special Olympics International, including the organization’s commitment to serve the community of special Olympics and their contribution to the progress of inclusive health services that promote sustainable community inclusion.
