The world’s largest autonomous racing league returns with
USD $ 2.25 million awards and global expansion
- A2RL Season 2 Car Championship that will be held on November 15 at the iconic Yas Marina circuit
- France and Japan teams come together to Racing League for the first time
- A2RL ‘Sim-Sprint’ debuts to the development of acceleration acceleration AI
Abu Dhabi, Eau – May 19, 2025 – Aspire, the driving force behind the great challenges and global competitions for the Advanced Technology Research Council of Abu Dhabi (ANTRC), today announced the return of its flagship event, the Autonomous Racing League of Abu Dhabi (A2RL). The 2025 edition will take place on November 15 at the YAS Marina circuit with a USD $ 2.25 million awards and the launch of a global virtual racing pioneer series.
After an innovative debut in April 2024, which attracted about 10,000 spectators and more than 1 million global transmission views, A2RL Season 2 returns with an even greater ambition, an enlarged international participation and a new bold platform to advance autonomous mobility.
The announcement was made of The Give It in the Emirates Forum in Abu Dhabi. The Autonomous Emirates vehicle (EAV 24), the self -approved A2RL improved autonomous, represses a significant leap in performance and engineering. Assembly and autonomensed in the EAU, the vehicle reflects the growth capabilities of nations in AI, robotics and high performance mobility. Build on the proven super formula SF23 platform, the EAV-24 has been forwarded to incorporate improved sensors matrices, updated computer systems and refined control logic, optimized for the demanding conditions of autonomous races.
This year’s League welcomes elite research teams from 10 countries, with the global list that expands to include France and Japan for the first time, joining a strong line of teams that return from the United States, Germany, Singapore, Italy and the EAU. As the most advanced competition in the world by autonomous systems, A2RL continues to close the gap between the simulation and the application of the real world.
A key innovation this season is the launch of A2RL Sim Sprint. A series of virtual races designed to accelerate algorithm refinement and test AI systems in various conditions, Sim Sprint extends A2RL to a development ecosystem throughout the year. By offering a consistent and controlled environment for experimentation, the SIM Sprint allows equipment to accelerate the development of their autonomous driving algorithms beyond what is possible only through real world tests. It is especially valuable to address ‘edge cases’, rare or extreme scenarios that are difficult to replicate on the road, but are critical to build resistant.
Approximately in time, A2RL aims to open the Sim Sprint to a broader community of participants, including fans, independent developers and aspiring teams worldwide. A structured progression system, from Sim Academy to Sim Pro, and any of any A2RL rating of the real world provides new ways for talent to enter the league and contribute to the future of high performance autonomy.
The Faisal al Bannai, advisor to the president of the EAU for strategic research and advanced technology issues and the Secretary General of ATRC said: “With A2RL, we are not only testing autonomous technology, we are accelerating evolution in the most demanding possible conditions. It is a showcase of excellence in engineering, but more importantly, a platform for future speed. From the high speed of high speed. High speed. Demonstrating what is possible when the nations invest in deep technological innovation and challenge the world to the world to the world to the construction of high speed.
Stephane Tipano, CEO of Aspire, added: “By combining the physical emotion of the races with the precision of virtual tests, we are allowing the best minds in the world to push the limits of the AI. Reflections of the Expanded League this year Abu Dhabi, the rehabilitation scale of the narrow of the height of this year.
In the heart of the competition is the Dallara Super Formula SF23, a next -generation open wheel race car that was autonomist exclusively for A2RL. First presented in the inaugural race, the SF23 is built from sustainable bio-compound materials, weighs 690 kg and is the fastest open wheel run car in the world after formula one, reaching speeds of up to 300 km/h. Equipped with advanced braking systems, cable transmission accelerator control and a personalized autonomous stack, SF23 gives each team a state -of -the -art platform to adapt and optimize their conduction algorithms of AI in search of maximum performance.
Through aspire and under the broader umbrella of ATRC, A2RL continues to position Abu Dhabi as a world leader in high performance autonomy, transforming the way smart systems develop, try and implement. Visit A2Rl.io for more information.
