For moisture in movement, we love solid bars, since they fit in a compact pocket can that can be tasks anywhere. They are especially useful for traveling, since you do not need to worry about the liquid restrictions of the airline.
Then, with a little (much) test and error, we came up with the perfect recipe for a solid moisturizing bar that is full of nutritious ingredients to maintain its hydrated skin without the disaster of a liquid lotion. It melts slightly in contact with the skin, which makes the application soft and effortless. And you can also customize the ingredients to obtain the perfect product for home skin care for your skin.
Ingredients:
- Karité butter (1 tablespoon): deeply moisturizes and relieves dry skin
- Cocoa butter or mango butter (1 tablespoon): provides additional food and firm texture
- Jojoba or Oil Rosehip (1 tablespoon): light and non -fatty, ideal for facial hydration
- Bees wax or candelilla for vegan option (1 tablespoon): helps to solidify the bar and add a protective layer on the skin
- Vitamin E (½ teaspoon): acts as a natural preservative and nourishes the skin
- Can storage (~ 2 oz capacity)
Customization options:
If you do not have cocoa or mango butter, you can replace it with more karité butter or use another firm, nutritious ingredient to mount the solid consistency. This will still provide a creamy texture, but it could make the bar a bit softer.
Kokum Butter is another alternative with a texture similar to cocoa/mango butter but without any aroma.
