Abu Dhabi’s Modon to develop Ras El Hekma industrial zone in Egypt, 20,000 new jobs expected

20,000 new jobs could be created in a new industrial area Ras El Hekma after an agreement between the real estate developers of Egypt.

Modon Holding and Industrial Development Elsewedy of Egypt have signed a letter of intention (LOI) to build and operate a new industrial zone that attends the mega project Hakma City in Egypt.

The new industrial zone of 10 million square squares, located south of the Alexandria-Matruh highway and in front of the HAKMA site developed by Modon, will initially focus on attracting investors and manufacturers for construction materials for the broader project.

This will ensure a timely and profitable construction by introducing advanced and sustainable materials.

With a strong connectivity to the main roads, airports and the high -speed rail network, the area will improve and the local and supply chains as the development progresses.

The joint company between Modon and Elsewedy Industrial Development, one of the main developers of integrated industrial and logistics cities in Egypt, is the last one of a series of established associations to boost the megaproject forward and the Reapffior commission in Commitment to collaborate the Hekma Reengitator.

Modon and Elsewedy are now activating anchoring partners and industrial investors, the prioritization that leads Egyptian companies in key segments to boost industrial growth and create synergies with international investors.

The first wave of companies to sign comprehension memorandes with Modon Holding to provide compensation for the construction of buildings and other materials for the project, as well as explore opportunities to develop factories or industrial lines in the industrial zone PROPOSE, includes:

  • Elsewedy Electric, a leader of Egyptian and international electrical products and builder of energy and water solutions
  • 3S Ready Mix Concrete, part of the Alam Hassan group and one of the largest mixing concrete suppliers in Egypt
  • Rak Ceramics, one of the world’s largest ceramic brands and a company born in EAU
  • Hitech Concrete, Subidiary or Trojan Construction Group, one of the main suppliers of concrete products in the EAU

The long -term vision for the industrial zone extends beyond the construction phase, with the objective of establishing a sustainable industrial base that promotes economic activity throughout the year, employment creation and significant contribution to the GDP of Egypt.

This strategic infrastructure will further strengthen the position of Egypt as a leading manufacturing and commercial center. By diversifying in new sectors, the area will support regional projects along the north coast of Egypt while expanding key export markets such as Libya and Europe.

In addition, this expansion will position the Hekma as a center for industrial innovation, aligning with its vision of becoming a prosperous and competitive city worldwide.

Around the next decade, it is projected that the area generates more than 20,000 new jobs, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for economic growth.

Voltage 170.8 million square meters, Ras the Hekma will be a fully functional, intelligent, sustainable and inclusive urban community, and the home of two million people after the completion.

ADQ appointed Modon as a master developer for the Hekma in 2024, with the planned city that represents a key element of the international growth strategy of modon and significantly increases its development land outside the EAU.
