DP World and the Government of India have announced the launch of the Bharat Africa Setu, a commercial initiative aimed at double the commercial volumes of India-Africa.

India and DP World Launch ‘Bharat Africa Setu’ Commercial Initiative
Backed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India and the Ministry of External Affairs, the initiative will connect the ports of the DP world, economic zones and logistics parks in both regions.
The platform will provide Indian exporters access to 53 African countries and 260,000 points of sale through an integrated commercial ecosystem.
DP World currently operates 10 ports and terminals, three economic zones and more than 200 stores in Africa.
Bharat Africa Setu will integrate physical infrastructure with services that include export financing, marketing, packaging, logistics and certification services.
Currently, Africa amount on goods of $ 430 billion in goods, and India represents only 6.5 percent of that total at $ 28 billion. With the new initiative, this figure is expected to increase to 12 percent by 2030.

The launch coincides with the beginning of the construction of Bharat Mart, a B2B and B2C market of 2.7 million square feet in Dubai designed to strengthen trade between India and global markets.
Phase one, tension 1.3 million square feet, will open at the end of 2026 in the free zone of Jebel Ali (Jafza).
It will have 1,500 exhibition rooms, and more than 700,000 square feet of storage, light industrial units and office space, with dedicated space for companies led by women from India.
