Dubai Culture Brings Makers’ Month to Spotlight Innovation in Manufacturing – Arts & culture

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will be the host of the month of the third makers from April 27 to 27 at Earth Roastery in Al Quoz. This two -day festival brings together practitioners in all disciplines for discussion panels, talks, field visits and practical workshops, designed to sharpen skills and promote collaboration between manufacturing and creative industries. This platform underlines the commitment of Dubai’s culture to promote a dynamic production ecosystem and highlight international best practices, while reinforcing the position of the Emirate as a global culture center, an incubator of creativity and a prosperation for talent.

Khulood Khory, director of the Dubai culture projects and events, emphasized how the month of manufacturers unites creativity and industry. She said: “Through our strategic projects and associations, we support the local manufacturing panorama creating the proper environment. We encourage them to explore the unique resources, the investment models of the creative area of ​​Al Quoz, and in the Doy and in the Doy and the Prop. During the two days, participants can participate in a diverse line of interactive workshops organized in association with Make Works EAU and the Cultural Jalila Center for Children, with a distinguished group of experts and speakers who share ideas about sustainability. The sessions include ‘design and development of products in the day and age of AI’, directed by Tristan Pirouz and Joyce and Girls. This unfolds the role of artificial intelligence in the remodeling of product design workflows. Meanwhile, Lamis Alhashimy, co -founder of Palmade, will present “the art of crafts and sustainability”, examining how manufacturers contribute to the emirate’s economy.

In ‘Crafting Success: the art and business of Spoke’, Pawan and Ashish Ishwar of Knights & Lords will share how they transformed their fashion passion project into a successful company. Alhaan Ahmed, CEO and co -founder of ARDH, will direct a talk, ‘designers as entrepreneurs: elaboration of sustainable and desirable solutions for the future’, discuss the intersection of creativity and entrepreneurship in the development of better ways of doing. Lina Ghalib will reflect on her experience in the foundation of Plyalm, an alternative organic plywood company, in ‘determining the future of everyday objects’.

Khulood Khoaise will also join Mayon to Shamsi, founder of Creams Botanics and winner of the Creative Entrepreneurship competition of Al Quoz 2024, to describe the support mechanisms and the Avarough Forum opportunities.

Participants can also join a guided bus tour organized by Make Works EAU to visit three local factories: a furniture manufacturer, a multipurfic production installation and a print house and a design study. The tour offers live demonstrations and real -time exposure to creativity processes, underlining the technical experience and crafts of Al Quoz Creative Zone.
