The campaign aims to raise awareness about Begge’s negative impact, protect the public image of the EAU and reduce this phenomenon through preventive and legal measures.

Colonel Ahmad al Adeedi, deputy director of the suspect department and criminal phenomena, said “Combat Begge” is one of the most effective campaigns launched by the Dubai police, which contributes to an annual reduction in the number of beggars.

He explained that Dubai police develop an Integral Annual Security Plan in cooperation with the relevant authorities, increasing patrols in areas where beggars are likely.

He warned that he began to threaten public safety, the image of Tame, and is linked to crimes such as robbery, charger and exploitation of children, sick and determination people to obtain illegal profits.

They encouraged those who need to seek help from official entities and registered charitable organizations, which provide legitimate support, such as financial assistance and IFTAR meals.

Captain Abdullah Khamis, head of the anti-benefit section, declared that many beggars claim financial difficulties, but begging is illegal and punishable by law.

He urged the public to play an active role in the support efforts to donate through licensed beneficial organizations, ensuring that it helps them genuinely needed, instead of involuntarily supporting criminal activities.

Captain Khamis asked the public to refrain from giving money to beggars, regardless of how convincing their appearance is.
