Dubai rolls out new parking fees from April 4: Everything you need to know

The new Dubai variable price system for public parking facilities is now in force. The updated provisions introduce different prices based on the type of installation and the time of day, with the main events of special rates, the company of Parkin PJSC, the largest public parking provider paid in the Emirate revealed.

“The introduction of a variable price rate rate policy marks a recent evolution to the regulatory parking scene of Dubai, which represents a strategic step forward both for Parkin and the Emirate. This important update aligns our operations with international standards, reflecting the progressive approach of Dubai for urban mobility and traffic management traffic. Premium parking places in Dubai

The Dubai road and transport authority (RTA) will designate certain areas as premium parking areas in densely populated areas, including those close to public transport infrastructure.

New tariff structure

The new tariff structure divides the day in peak and out of the peak. Peak hours include:

• 8:00 am – 10:00 am
• 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Rates include:

• Aed6 per hour for premium parking spaces
• AED4 per hour for all other paid public parking spaces

Peak peak hours include:

• 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
• 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

However, tariffs remain unchanged. The parking lot will continue to be free during the night from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am and all day on Sunday.

For important events such as conferences, exhibitions, festivals and concerts, special event parking areas will be activated with adjusted rates to administer volumes of higher vehicles.

That said, Parkin has classified the parking lot in premium and standard categories. There are premium areas in areas with high demand, including those close to public transport. These areas have signs and tariff information on display, with details available on the Parkin website, application and social networks.

After the discussions with the RTA, 40 percent of Parkin’s public portfolio is now designated as premium parking, compared to the previous 35 percent. The rest remains as standard parking.

At the end of 2024, Parkin operated 3,200 spaces in six several floors. The rate of these remains in AED5 per hour, loaded continuously throughout the year. The parking lot for more than eight hours in a 24 -hour period will cost a maximum or AED40.

Parkin’s private developer portfolio included 19,200 spaces at the end of 2024. After RTA consultations, about 35 percent of this portfolio will now use the variable rate, above the 0 percent expected previous one.

For events at the Dubai World Trade Center, parking in the 200 surrounding spaces will cost AED25 per hour from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm The events scheduled for 2025 include:

• Gulfood Manufacturing (November 4-6)
• The Big 5 (November 24-27)
• Automechanika Dubai (December 9-11)

Under premium maximum prices, parking costs will increase by 50 percent.
