The road and transport authority (RTA) in Dubai has completed the installation of solar energy systems in 22 of its buildings and facilities as part of its environmental sustainability efforts.
The project is expected to support the RTA Zero Emissions Strategy, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, generate 32 million kilowatts-Hora annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

RTA completes the installation of the solar panel in 22 Dubai facilities
Solar panels have been installed in 16 facilities in several RTA sectors, including bus deposits in Al Quoz, Khawaneej and Rowaiyah; Bus stations in Al Satwa and Oud Metha; Maintenance workshops in Al Muhaisnah; Metro deposits and additional locations.
According to Shaikh, the RTA has adhered to the standards established by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority for the distribution and installation of solar panels.
The systems have been personalized to adapt to the conditions, nature and requirements of use of each installation.
“Energy production is monitored through Dewa Shams Dubai calculator, whose real -time monitoring of operational efficiency by providing live data from each site,” he added.
The initiative demonstrates RTA’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the adoption of clean energy solutions in its infrastructure network.
