Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research collaborates with the Emirates Group to support scholarship programme in line with national priorities – UAE

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Mohesr) has announced a cooperation agreement with the Emirates group to support the scholarship program, improve the qualifications of the Citizens of the EAU and guarantee their preparation to comply with national priorities. The Association aims to strengthen the integration between the results of the program and the needs of the labor market while advancing the strategic objectives of the country for the Emiratí talent of development in future sectors.

The agreement seeks to support scholarship programs offering educational opportunities for Emirati students in the main international universities in fields aligned with national priorities. It also facilitates its transition from high education to the labor market by providing practical training, professional guidance and guaranteed employer after graduation.

The agreement was signed by his highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed to Maktoum, President and Executive Director of Emirates Airline and Group; and his excellence Dr. Abdulrahman al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Emiratization and Update. His excellence, Dr. Al Awar, pointed out that the agreement represents a strategic step to boost the quality of higher education results and align them with the needs of the national economy. He added that the Association with the Emirates Group gives students advanced and integrated educational opportunities that combine academic achievement with practical experience, strengthening their preparation to excel in the labor market after graduation.

He added: “In Mohesr, we continuously improve the scholarship program by forging strategic associations with key national companies with the objective of creating a safe and supporting environment and rationalizing educational scalidity. A transition without problems of the classroom to the workplace, adapted to the qualifications and abilities of each student.
As part of this association, Emirati students will be used by the Emirates group from the beginning of their scholarship to the end of their educational trip. When graduating, they will assume advanced specialized roles with the company that are consistent with their academic qualifications and the practical experience they have obtained.

This pioneering step aims to allow national talent to concentrate on academic performance and professional excellence simultaneously, while guaranteeing job stability and sustainable professional development. The Association will help meet the needs of the key economic sectors through the construction of a qualified workforce in future -oriented fields, thus serving a cooperation model between Mohesr and national companies.

Within this collaboration, Mohesr will assign a series of scholarships annually for new and continuous Emirati students. The Ministry will be coordinated with the Emirates group to identify studies, selected universities and academic specializations according to national priorities and the needs of the sector, establish students admission criteria and recruit scholarship candidates. Mohesr will administer the application process and make final decisions regarding scholarship receptors in coordination with the Emirates group.

After graduation, the Ministry will supervise the transition of students to employment within the group’s business units, ensuring that the objectives of the initiative are with. It will also collect data and comments to further develop the scholarship program and improve the educational experience for future beneficiaries.

The Emirates group will offer professional support and guidance to scholarship students, providing them with professional training and systematic practice through their studies to equip them with the necessary skills for a successful movement to the workforce. The company will offer full -time employment graduates or part -time, according to the group’s operational needs and its subsidiaries. In addition, the Emirates group will monitor the progress of students dating from the scholarship period to ensure that their educational trip remains aligned with the demands of the labor market while offering additional incentives to high performance students.

This agreement highlights the importance of investing in national talent and establishing sustainable academic and professional career that respond to global changes. By focusing on quality education and practical training, the association will help the competitiveness of the Emirati talent at national and international level, which reinforces the main position of the EAU in the development of human capital and in the construction of an economy based on knowledge.
