Sharjah Football Club assured the title of the AFC Champions League 2 on Sunday after defeating Lion City Sailors 2–1 of Singapore in an exciting game hero at the Bishan stadium in Singapore.
Fira Belarbi of Sharjah opened the scoring in the 74th minute. Lion City equaled in the 91st minute to Maxime, before Marcus Meloni seal the victory for Sharjah with a decisive goal in the 97th minute.
This marks the first time in the history of the club that Sharjah has won a continental title. It is also the inaugural edition of the recently formatted Tournament of the AFC Champions League 2.
