United Arab Emirates, Ireland hold first round of political consultations in Abu Dhabi to mark 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations – World

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Ireland convince the opening round of political consultations in Abu Dhabi. The session was co -chaired by Lana Zaki Nusseheh, Assistant Minister of Political Affairs, and Gerard Koeown, General Director and Political Director of the Ireland Foreign Affairs Department.

The consultations mark a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship of the EAU-IRLAND, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries. Both parties highlighted the developments achieved in several sectors and reaffirmed their shared commitment to depend the ties. Nusseibeh said that the prospective association is based on shared values ​​and expansion in cooperation in various areas of mutual interest from water, food and energy safety, to artificial intelligence and space research to cooperation in the multilateral field.

The discussions in the consultations approached how to accelerate cooperation in a variety of vital sectors, trade and investment in part. Continuous growth in non -oil bilateral trade, which has increased by 9% in 2023, will be aggravated by the positive decision to launch negotiations as a restart of Integral Economic Association (EU) and European and Europeans.

The two parties also discussed the points of view on key regional and international developments, with a particular approach in the peace process of the Middle East, European security and developments in the horn of Africa with an approach to promotion and diplomacy.

Both parties expressed their appreciation for open and constructive discussions and agreed to continue celebrating consultations on a regular basic as part of the progress efforts to advance the shared objectives and deepen the political commitment.
