The Dubai Police, represented by the Department of the Fraud Control Center in the General Department of Criminal Investigation, has downward tasks of three criminal gangs that include 13 people of Asian nationality who were using telephone scams to attack the victims

These gang members went to agencies such as police and banks, contacting citizens and residents under the claim to need to update their bank information, pay traffic fines or solve residence problems. These statements exploited to obtain access to the bank accounts of the victims and steal their money.

Dubai Police said gangs used sophisticated tactics to convince victims of sharing confidential information related to their bank cards, such as the three -digit CVV and unique passwords (OTP). They touch the advantage of people’s trust in official entities.

The force highlighted the importance of not sharing personal or bank information with non -reliable sources and warned against responding to calls requesting data updates or confidential information. They encouraged community members to report any suspicious communication immediately, either visiting the closest police station or through the “Ecrime” platform through the website www.ecrime.ae or the Dubai Police application.

Dubai police also reaffirmed that banks never ask customers to share their bank or personal information through text messages, emails or telephone calls that claim to update their accounts.

The trial of these gangs is part of the efforts of the Dubai police to combat cyber fraud and protect the community from being victims of such scams through continuous awareness campaigns.
