The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced an audience that program the resonance of public art installation, created in collaboration with the Askal Arts Foundation in the historical neighborhood of Al Shindagha. This initiative is under the public art strategy of Dubai of authority, whose objective is to transform the Emirate into a global outdoor art gallery, while reinforcing its leadership on the international cultural map.
Scheduled for April 26, the event offers a unique opportunity to explore the aesthetic dimensions of works of art by graphic designer Maryam Namvar and architect Neda Salmanpour. It also highlights the distinctive architecture and the immersive art facilities of the area, which enrich the local creative scene.
The agenda presents a discussion panel entitled ‘Perception Reimagined: Sound and Place’, moderated by the curator Munira al Sayegh. The artist of Emirati Sound Safeya al Blooshi will share her ideas about experimental field recordings to examine the relationship between our environment and sound and how acoustic characteristics define a place. Meanwhile, Maryam Namvar and Neda Salmanpour will discuss their experience creating resonance, a work of art composed of three suspended metal panels that reflect the visual and auditory aspects of the district. The piece invites reflection on the interaction of wind, water and architecture, as well as the historical and social meaning of the neighborhood.
The Nigerian artist and curator OSE Ekore will direct the listening session ‘Perselero through sound’, offering attendees a collective immersion inspired by the natural elements that surround the location. The program includes a multisensory audiovisual walk entitled ‘In reaction to sound’, designed to involve the audience with the dynamic interaction of different senses in the creative process. Participants will experience with the capture of images of the historical neighborhood of Al Shindagha so that combine listening with innovative narration.
