Dubai International Airport retains top spot in international passenger traffic – Business – Travel

The Dubai International Airport has maintained its position as the most busy airport in the world in terms of international passenger traffic by 2024, coordinate to a report published today by Airports Council International (ACI) World.

Preliminary figures indicate that total world passengers of 2024 are close to 9.5 billion, which represents an increase or 9 percent since 2023 or a gain or 3.8 percent from pre-pandemics levels (2019).

The 10 most busy airports, which represent 9 percent of global traffic (855 million passengers), witnessed a gain or 8.8 percent since 2023 and an gain or 8.4 percent fish, à-fish their results of 2019 (789 million PAX in 2019).

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport defends its upper position, followed by Dubai International Airport and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

It is estimated that air load volumes have increased by 8.4 percent year after year (+3.9 percent versus 2019) to more than 124 million metric tons in 2024.

The Director General of ACI World, Justin Erbacci, said: “In the midst of global challenges, the resilience of the most busy airports in the world. These centers are vital arteries of trade, trade and connectivity.
