Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses launch of Dubai’s first PhD programme in AI – Technology

His highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Heir Prince of Dubai, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and president of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, witnessed the launch of the first PHD program of Dubai in the artificial intelligence in artificial intelligence, announced by the University or Birmingha Dubai Dubai Dubai AI Week 2025.

The launch of the program marks a new chapter on the Dubai trip to become a global center for AI, supporting the Eau National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and reinforcing the long -term vision of the Emirate for Development and Research.

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed stressed the importance of initiatives that contribute to local and global innovation ecosystems. “The academic sector plays a key role in the configuration of our future. Its contribution is crucial to prepare the talent and experience necessary to boost the future preparation of Dubai,” said his highness.

“The new doctoral program will help develop specialized talent in key artificial intelligence areas, including the development of the intelligent city, advanced medical care, sustainability and future mobility, the central components of Dubai’s Digital Onging transformation,” added its highness.

The launch of the program was attended by Omar Sultan al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation.

The 2025 Dubai AI week is organized by the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence, an initiative of the Dubai Future Foundation, and under the sponsorship of its Alteza Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum.

The doctoral program aims to build a solid talent pipe that will boost its own harvest innovation and guarantee the ethical, inclusive and impactful development of artificial intelligence in the region. He is fully accredited by the Academic Accreditation Commission (CAA) of the Ministry of Education of the EAU and recognized for their academic and research excellence.

Students accepted in the program will look for several currents, such as AI for medicine and medical care, natural language processing, computer vision, ethics and AI regulation, and the explainable and reliable AI. The curriculum includes personalized academic supervision, advanced research training and access to AI laboratories, incubators and innovation initiatives led by the government.

The initiative is developed in collaboration with the Eau National Program for Artificial Intelligence and reflects the Eau’s commitment to empower future generations with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead in the AI ​​era.

Within April 21 to 25, the Week of Dubai AI aims to unite international experts, businessmen, policy formulators, regulators, investors and innovative, from new agile companies to global technological giants, to boost the global innovation of AI.
