Heathrow airport closed: Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways cancel flights

London Heathrow Airport has closed until midnight (United Kingdom) after a fire interrupted by thousands or passengers.

It is estimated that 1,357 flights are affected in one of the most busy airports in the world, including incoming and outgoing flights from the Middle Eastern aircrafts, including Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.

Passengers were told to stay away from Heathrow airport and trains were suspended to the transport center.

Heathrow closed airport

Emirates said that flights to and from downtown London were canceled for Friday, March 21.

Said: “

“Passengers who connect to the flights to London Heathrow will not be accepted to travel to the point of origin.

“We are monitoring the situation closely and we will update our clients as the situation develops.

“Emirates offers customers affected by the flight cannellations the option to reserve other United Kingdom airports, or travel at a later date. Passengers who have reserved travel agents must be contacted to reserve. Assistance.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

The Eau airline, Etihad, also announced flight cancellation.

He said: “After the closure of Heathrow London Airport (LHR) caused by a severe blackout, Etihad has canceled the following flights to and from London on Friday, March 21:

  • Ey63 Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow
  • Ey64 London Heathrow A Abu Dhabi
  • Ey65 Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow
  • Ey66 London Heathrow A Abu Dhabi

“Today’s Ey61 service from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow has diverted to Frankfurt Airport (FR). The EY62 service from London Heathrow (LHR) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) is delayed up to more information.

“The guests who travel to or from London are urged to verify the status of their flight at Etihad.com.

“The safety of our guests and crew is our number one priority and we regret any incidentity caused by this interruption.”

Qatar Airways also issued a statement to confirm the flights to and from doha.

Qatar Airways said: “

  • DOH-LHR: QR011, QR107, QR003 and QR007
  • LHR-DOH: QR006, QR010, QR004, QR008 and QR006

“Qatar Airways is working in close collaboration with LHR airport officials. The affected pins due to the above will be treated by our customer and airport service equipment.”
