The 21 volume series narrates events from 1497 to 1757 AD, focusing on the history of the region and the strategic importance of the Oman Sea. His highness highlighted the depth and authenticity of Oman’s historical legacy, describing him as rich and honorable.

His highness, the ruler of Sharjah, opened the television interview with an in -depth survey of his Onoing project to collect, translate and publish historical documents. He recalled that in 1985, after obtaining his doctorate and publishing his thesis as a book, he visited the library and records of the Indian office in the United Kingdom.

His highness shared that he had presented his doctoral thesis to the director of the British Library, who examined it with interest, particularly intrigued by the sources of the documents referred to. Then, his highness detailed the challenges he faced by accessing British documents for his investigation, which finally led him to travel to Mumbai, India, to obtain the necessary copies. He said that the idea came from an Indian old woman with the library, who was also working on her thesis. She informed him that the same documents were available in Mumbai, which caused her decision to continue her investigation there.

His highness shared that he had requested the help of Fiona Wilkie, a British library employee who specialized in Portuguese documents. With the approval of the director of the library, his highness organized his early retirement, which covered the expenses himself, and used it directly to support his efforts in the meeting of Portuguese historical records.

HH explained that the British library had preserved many Portuguese documents after the recovery of Mumbai of the Portuguese, as part of the efforts to better understand and study the region. His highness also revealed that transferring and translating thesis documents to the collection tok of the British Library and was carried out a Portuguese speech expert named Denver, supported by a dedicated and skilled team.
