The United Arab Emirates are committed to strengthening the protection of intellectual property (IP) as a cornerstone of their economic agenda promoted by innovation, the secretary general of the Supreme Legislet of Dubai (SLC) said on Friday.
In a statement that marks World Intellectual Property Day, Ahmad Bin Meshar al Muhairi said that empowering creators and innovatives through Robust IP Marks is essential to improve the competitiveness of the EAU and reinforce their global talent center.
“World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of empowering innovators and creators by providing them with the tools and the meaning necessary to protect their intellectual property rights, a protection that plays a vitual role.
He added that IP is essential for the growth of the EAU creative industries and that the country is working to establish legislative systems and regulators that support this sector.
Recent efforts include the deployment of a new national IP ecosystem that comprises 31 initiatives aligned with international best practices, the launch of a ‘patent incubator’ project to document the patent registration processes to all Emirates and the establishment of a new economy of Fontist Greenfontist.
“In the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai, we reaffirm our commitment to improve the legislative framework for the protection of intellectual property rights in the United Arab Emirates,” he told Muhairi, noting that the broader environment and of those that and of the broader work and the broader things and of the things and of those who and of which and of the work and of the work and of the work and of the work and of the work those who and do so, and business and business and those who and do so and the work and those who are and of the work and those who are and in the broadest way.
